Women's Outdoor Network
We are looking forward to a wonderful year of outdoor activities and hope that you join WON and attend as many of them as possible. In addition to the hikes, cycles, kayaks and other events taking place, we hold quarterly planning meetings where you can discuss your needs and suggest upcoming trips. We welcome feedback anytime.
Women's Outdoor Network, Inc. (WON) is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to serving women in and near the metropolitan Atlanta area. This service is directed toward helping women enjoy the outdoors and enjoy the fun and sistership that naturally occur when like-minded women gather for outdoor activities. In so far as possible, W.O.N Inc. will attempt to provide safe and enjoyable activities for our members, but in the final analysis, each individual is responsible for her own safety and well being.
Policy
Safety is a priority. Both leaders and participants must use sound judgment and common sense in an attempt to keep the activity as safe as possible.
WON does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, or disability in any of its policies or programs. All women at least eighteen (18) years of age are welcome as members. Outing participants must affirm to have the level of skill required to safely participate in and complete the specific activity(ies). Men are welcome on some, but not all trips.
Safety and respect for others is a priority. Each individual should be personally responsible for their own behavior as well as show respect for others. WON, Inc. has zero tolerance for illegal drugs, or for alcohol consumption that jeopardizes the physical safety of any participant. For example, no participant shall drink any alcohol while engaged in a physical activity that will require physical agility, stamina, and/or mental concentration. By way of clarification, alcohol consumption would not be tolerated during the following types of activities: hiking, kayaking, bike riding, or rock climbing.
